Star Trek 4 had been remade or updated. It had a new ending with more time travel and flying a little spaceshop through a floating gold tetrahedron(ish shape) that made no sense.

The new ending didn't actually end, but just became this new thing where Kitk and Spock were visiting some witch who lived in a swamp. The swamp had thatch-roofed huts connected by boardwalks, and one of them had a short tin man-looking robot living in it. I liked the swamp, but was having trouble following the plot, which hinted at a bit more complexity than just going to a different time and back again.

I figure if your time-travel story isn't a super confusing spaghetti mess then it's not really a time travel story.
