Good times at 575 - 2006-10-19 23:05 - Entry 859 - TOGoS's Journal
So last year, back in Platteville,
we had the most awesome basement in the world.
Like, most the rest of the house was pretty crappy,
especially in the winter,
though A-day's room was pretty nice,
but the basement was the best place ever.
It was sort of damp down there
and sometimes my roommates would try to have parties down there,
so it sort of smelled like beer.
We had all these big speakers set up, and Ben's
amp, and at the end by the bar there was a blacklight.
And we had an old computer set up on the bar, so you
could control winamp (running on my machine upstairs, sending the
signal to the amp) from down there.
And at the other end, behind the stairs, we had
these strobelights.
So when everyone else was out at the bars getting
drunk or whatever,
and I'd get tired of programming,
I'd put a bunch of dance music in my playlist and
turn the volume on the amp way up and totally rock out.
Sometimes Fizz would come home while I was doing
that, and he'd hear the music and come down and join me for a
while and it'd be awesome.
Sometimes they'd have a fan on upstairs and it
would blow the basement smell into the whole house.
Sometimes I'd forget to turn the amp off, and people would
go downstairs to find stropelights flashing and speakers
blaring background static, and that'd be awesome, too.
