OK, see, I did this all wrong.
Somehow I had the idea that I should get through school as fast as I could and be done with it.
Spent my free time sitting in my room alone, doing nothing of interest to anybody.
I wasted years of my life that way.
Now I'm at a job that I hate.
Working 8 hours a day leaves me with no time for anything else worthwhile.
Fix bug. Add stupid feature. Don't try to fix the root problem, which is that we use a crappy language and frameworks designed by idiots, and that we build the thing one feature at a time, with little coordination between developers, and without a coherent overall structure.
I have little chance to put any creativity into my work.
You don't make friends by sitting at a screen all day writing stupid programs.
If this is what they meant by a career, I don't want it anymore.
I'd rather have a life.
