Last night I had to bike back to the library where I had been tutoring some guy in Physics to get my Physics book (for his Physics class) that I had left on a table there. As I was biking it smelled like fall and that was nice. It only started smelling like fall this week.
I had a dream that I was outside in a the courtyard at ORE-like place. There were patches of melting snow on the ground like in early spring. I thought it was strange that the seasons would go straight from early fall to early spring like that, but I didn't complain because it was plesant. And then I thought about how summer would be coming up and I didn't really like summer all that much, or winter eaither, but that spring and fall are really cool. I like those transitional periods. Like as the sun is rising and setting.
A quote from State of the Onion 9 that I like:
So I'm just wondering if we're getting ourselves into a similar situation with open source software. More software is not always better software. Google notwithstanding, I think it's actually getting harder and harder over time to find that nugget you're looking for. This process of re-inventing the wheel makes better wheels, but we're running the risk of getting buried under a lot of half-built wheels.
When I finish school today I want to work on my camera thing some more. this might be useful.
