I went back to Madison for a couple days. It was nice, but then I went back to school. It seemed as if I had been in Madison for much longer than 2 days.
It was the end of the summer. I was walking around the roads Dorsett - Gilbert - Flad with Timmy. While we were on Dorsett I found it plesant and convenient to shuffle along through the 'woods' along the road, but when we came out into the open on Gilbert we started running again and moved much faster. Off to the north we could see Blue Mounds. While we tried not to get hit in the head by a crowd of bats Timmy asked me where Piping rock was, and I said that it was 'back there' (pointing to about where piping rock was if you were on Flad passing the swimming pool). Meanwhile, I was going over the rest of my summer in my head, and being really confused. At one point I had biked out to Dodgeville, but instead of going to Dodgeville I took a fork in the trail several miles before the town and went to a park and camped there with some guys (who were already there) for a couple days. I thought I had brought my computer with me, but that didn't make sense if I was biking. Then there was another trip down south past Belleville where I went farther than ever before. And a trip either on or parallel to the Military ridge trail with a lot of people, including Martha and this very strange basketball team. I definitely had my computer on that trip, because I remembered camping all the time and setting it up where we camped off in the woods. But that didn't make sense, either. What was it I was thinking of? I also thought about that basketball team that was with us. It was mostly a bunch of nerds. And then I watched/listened to/read/thought of the story of how they got together, and it was a very silly story.
And then there was this thing about a whale that lived in the lake by our house. Actually it wasn't a whale - it was more like a brontosaurus. We swam around in the lake together and I petted her (I think it was a her) and we were good friends.
Back in Madison, my parents and I were out in the back yard by the concrete bridge that they had built with the girl scouts before I was born. I was lying under it, and was finding that layers of the sides of the bridge were sort of peeling off if you just touched them. Each layer had something written on it, like as they were building the bridge people signed different layers of it in commemeration of the building of it. I also found out old, large aquarium in there. And I was telling my dad that the bridge was falling apart, and he told me that they were going to get a new one when Dawne came. As I imagined it, it was going to be more of a rope bridge than a nice, wide, concrete one that you could bike across. As he was looking at the old aquarium he said something to the effect of 'is there a wheelbarrow that goes with this?', and so I went to get the wheelbarrow but woke up.
Those dreams were interesting because I never really knew that I was dreaming - it all seemed so real. At least until I came back to the world where things are generally a bit more consistent. I didn't go to Madison for 2 days. I was actually a bit suprised to find myself waking up on this couch. I didn't go on an especially long bike ride down the south bike path through Belleville this summer (although I did drag Fizz along to Belleville, but not beyond it). The long ride was last Summer, just before I made WalletBreath. The trip to Governor Dodge park was also last summer, but the trip to meet the other guys (Ben,Ben,Fizz) was all the way to Platteville, this summer. And I never dragged my computer along on any of these trips, though I did use Ben's compy to play Age2_x1 while I was in P-ville.
Doing a bit of work on the meta-nodes. I'll write that 2005 summer recap, now that summer is finally over.
