2003-02-06 (Thursday) - Entry 269 - TOGoS's Journal

I had a dream in which we were supposed to stand in some stupid long line to go to some class, so I just went around. Then it was like we were in Iraq. We were hanging out with the kids, there.

The next night I had a dream in whih, at one point, I was standing out on the space shuttle runway, which I remembered from that one other dream.

There was something else in there, too...

Yesterday and today I made 'Blurry', which is a rip-off of Puddle of Mudd's song. I had gym today, and then went and sorta worked on the A-Team Machine. And my "C" key still doesn't work very well.

Here's my journal I'm turning in for Ingles tomorrow:

Dan Stevens's Journal 3 (news)

Well there was certainly news this week. Columbia blew up as it was coming back from orbit. I guess thatt sucks for the astronauts and their families, but you have to admit, it's really not a bad way to go. I mean, if you die in a war, that's sad, but if you die coming back from flying around in outer space, it's like, "Whoo-hoo! I got to fly around in outer space!".

At least that's how I see it.

In other news, Bush still wants to have a War in Iraq.

And my roommate says that "North Korea sounds like they might start pre-emtive strikes if the US doesn't back off". When I read the artile, though , it sounds more like they're just warning us not to attack them, which makes sense. If I was North Korea, I wouldn't want people attaking me, either.

The Bush administration has resisted direct talks because, they said, it would be giving in to "nuclear blackmail."

I don't understand why they an't just talk to them, anyway. This is silly.

Dan Stevens's Journal 3 (personal)

On Friday I went to English where I found out that there was some grammar excercises homework that I was supposed to have done. Then I made a second version of Mulker 21 by importing it into Reason. This activity was interrupted only when I went to Math, which had been cancelled anyway. I talked to my dad on the IM a lot about how it Mulker 21 (reason) had gotten clipped and I re-rendered it a few times until the volume was more reasonable.

On Saturday I made another song, which I eventually named "Into Moria". I refrained from calling it "Mulker" both because I didn't want it to seem like I was doing a Mulker-a-day, and because this was the first one that I did without my old MIDI tools (I used Reason to render Mulker 21 (reason), but that was basically an alternate rendering of Mulker 21, which I did make with my old tools). It only took me a few hours to throw it together, but it turned out really nicely. Reason is a pretty nice piece of software.

Al Gore was on Saturday Night Live. He doesn't seem to be a very good actor, but it was funny just because it was Al Gore. "Fiesta Politica!"

I was going to try and apply to be an RA, but they wanted me to write a resume, first. I went to the resume workshop and they gave me stuff. Supposedly I was supposed to write a 'cover page', where I have to put my name and stuff, and then a 'cover letter', where I tell them why I'd be a better RA than anyone else, and then the resume itself, where I say the same thing a different way, and tell them about all the jobs I've had as head of some multinational corporation. I had a lot of other homework to do anyway, so I gave up on that idea. Ot seems a bit silly to require you to submit a resume just to be an RA.

On about Wednesday I started working on a song based on 'Blurry'. I worked on that for a while instead of doing my Math homework or reading for EE. So tonight I'll have to get to work on that stuff. I think I've done everything I need to for English. But I also have to write the front end for the A-Team Machine.

And here's the stuff I have to do:

After I finish writing this , I think I'll go to the bathroom, then do Math, possibly followed by EE. Or I might diddle with the songlist business some more...

And Jon just stopped by and gave me a bag of wires and things to mount my speaker jacks and things on the front of my mahine.
