Different parts of this dream seemed to happen in the same building that had a hallway with some other rooms off to the sides.
One of the rooms was like a kitchen, with a big opening to the hall, like so you could make food and then hand it out through the window. Nick was standing in the doorway talking to some people in the kitchen. I easily recognized him by his light curly hair, which was especially springy today. Apparently he had gotten a job as a bus or taxi driver. Meanwhile I collected a mechanical pencil off the floor. I used to have several, but had lost them, but now I was finding them all again. Yay!
I had like a curved plastic board that I needed to slice in half edgewise. There was a sawblade made of copper wire (it was like a flat brush) that I used for this purpose. I had somehow cut pilot cuts through the board that I could follow along with the copper wire saw, which was good because otherwise there's no way I could be precise enough with it. After I cut the thing it was no longer the plastic board, but some kind of electrical box, which was itself made of copper wire. I'd made kind of a mess of it by sawing it in half. The 'grain' of the 'material' was such that one side was no longer connected (because no single piece of wire connected to the bottom and top). Maybe that would be okay. It would eventually be sandwiched between some other pieces and that should hold it all together.
