I was going to the Whitehouse and hanging out with kitchen staff and making fun of Trump. I don't remember how I'd gotten in the first time, but it may have had something to do with this hat that I was wearing that was white except for a black "T", and I had written in "rump" after that, which Fizz had then followed with "/ID", standing for "is dumb". Anyway, the kitchen staff kind of knew me, now, so I was able to come and go somewhat freely. I wanted to try to sell somebody an SA paper, because that would be badass.
There was an outlet in our house that was smoking. A little bit of smoke was coming out of other outlets, too. Smoke travelling through the conduit, I figured. So I had to take that outlet apart and deal with the fire. Good thing I was home when that happened, I thought.
And I was trying to explain to someone about the 3D projections that different games used, and I was a little bit confused about what I was actually getting at in the dream, but I kept referencing which directions had straight lines, and thinking about it now I realize that I was either talking about Doom's view basically being a 2-point perspective (vertical walls are always vertical on the screen), most modern 3D using a 3-point perspective (so you can look up and down), how I didn't like either of those because they resulted in distortion at the edges of the screen, and about Pan-Quake using a projection that acts as a fisheye lens in the X but pinhole in the Y. I was hoping to eventually get to Fisheye Quake, but I lost my train of thought and was also distracted by the ongoing outlet fire.
Transitioning from the whitehouse kitchen, I was now watching a middle-aged guy in his convirtible drive along a white ribbon in an infinite blue sky. There was a gap in the ribbon, and he purposely drove into it. As he fell down into the infinite sky his car turned so that he could see the ribon recede into the distance out the front window. After a bit of falling, he passed the ribbon again, and on the third time around landed on the other side of the gap, where some kids were waiting for him.
Throughout all of this, I had been wearing this heavy-weight Earthling Interactive hoodie/jacket. It was comfy like a hoodie, but parts of it had a slick pleather-like outer coating that made it good for wearing even in somewhat snowy or rainy conditions.
I went to the TV room at church to borrow a bunch of clamps. It was a room kind of like the kitchen, facing into the friendship hall or whatever, but was on the other side, and had a TV up in the corner. A couple other people who had been doing a shift in there were leaving and I assured them them that I was only borrowing the clamps, and that I would close up the room for them. At some point I realized that I had 2 of these jackets and I must have taken someone else's. So now I had to figure out who was missing theirs and return it.
The part about the TV room at church reminds me that I should sign up for 2019 coffee duty.
