Dream: something about driving the car around in the dark and the rain. I didn't recognize the place as anywhere I'd seen before. It was like driving around in the forest on wide, winedy sidewalks (winedy, as opposed to windy, which it may have been as well). At one point, I looked back and saw that there were other cars behind us. I kept afraiding that I was going to crash.
Dream: After mom yelled at me about how the bag in the trash fit in the
basket, I went on slashdot and looked at a discussion about something on
the space station. The discussion didn't stay on topic very long,
though. They soon started talking about all their favorite filesharing
programs. I posted something about trying to find a 'community' on the
web. Some guy responded to my post with some links. Someone subsequently
flamed him saying that he was just advertizing his stuff. Someone else
left a message saying that he really liked some particular windows program
which resembled BadBlue. I didn't think much of that. It was kinda
weird because I was sortof floating around the message board as if it
actually took up space.
Then, I was sitting here running Emacs in an X window. It was
[getting] dark outside and there were some kids out there that hung around
out house sometimes, but I didn't know who they were. I opened the
curtains so I could talk to them. They were saying something about
pretending they were poor because they didn't have an apartment. I told
them that they could be bums and live in this big pile of sand here. I
buried myself in the pile of sand, supposedly to keep warm. I said "hey,
I'm actually kind of... not cold". Dad was staring at me from the swing (
I had earlier seen Mr. Hess sitting on the swing - this was probably in an
earlier dream), because he thought I was being weird. I looked up the path
toward the driveway and saw a big, shiny, red van. That must be where
these 3 kids came from (at least 1 of them had their bicycle with them -
they had been leaning the handlebar against my window). I ran over to the
prarie-stairs, and went around the front and by the big van, while
thinking about how I could use pipes and forks to run CGIs on my
server. I then went to the kitchen/living room opening where Mom
and Dawne were arguing. Dawne was saying that kids shouldn't learn so much
about George Washington. Then they were talking about why kids shouldn't
go to the same college their parents went to. I was thinking about
asking Dawne about how to use pipes and forks.
